It may not be the worst trade ever (see Herschel Walker), however giving up two #1 picks, a 5th rounder, and Orton for an overrated illness prone alcoholic isn't a good move in my opinion. But then again, the Bears have been trying to find a QB for over 2 decades so what the hell.
Look at it like this: Cutler is a drastic improvement over neck beard Orton at the most important position in all of sports. The Bears were 9-7 last year...this trade should give them at least one more win which puts them in a playoff spot. It doesn't hurt them in the short term but does in the long term without those 2 1st round picks. Plus it keeps him away from the Vikings and the Lions.
